I don't mean to sound like a pessimist here, because I do value what I've got believe me.
We've been through the financial times, and I don't mean the newspaper! I'm just being a realist and I tell you folks....it's a lifes work.
Be ready for it when you decide to buy an old house.
Be ready for the surprises...(I'm talking outdated electrical wiring, outdated heating, nasty materials were used way back then!)
Fortunately, we've got most of the inside done, now it's time to get the outside looking good and insulated as well (saves on those heating costs). Hoping the winter this year will be warmer and cozier than the past ones in this little old cottage by the row.
Getting ready to insulate...(notice the daredevil scaffolding)
Old window rollos...to be replaced by shiny white new ones
things are coming along
new door, still needs to be antiqued...a job for another day
Notice the ugly dark brown front door? We are planning on remodeling it instead of replacing it...will show pics when it's done
keeping things covered inside (because we can't just walk around the house, in a row house you have to walk THROUGH the house with all your equipment)
don't forget to stop and smell the roses while you're at it
what's that little red spot in the corner?
Archie in one of his favorite places to nap
Everyone that walks by can see us living our little life....Hubby's hogging the remote while playing the Concerto de la Snore for me and I'm just about to sign off and count my blessings. Peaceful.
Wishing all a great weekend!
Siggie
