Strasbourg, France

Took a little day trip to Strasbourg, France. You gotta take advantage of the weather when you get the chance and this trip was well worth it. Strasbourg is only a one and a half hour drive away from us when taking the autobahn and I've never been there before, go figure! It's the perfect little day trip. Can't wait to get some company and take them there, hint hint to those promising to visit :))

I usually prefer small medieval towns to the big bright city, but Strasbourg has a village atmosphere and we didn't encounter any hauty attitudes like I expected. It's very touristy, most cliches of France's Elssas region is being catered to here, but nonetheless, I enjoyed it very much!

I took a few snapshots around town:

The house (1 Maison Kammerzell) is not crooked... I did that on purpose, don't ask me why, it just fit into the picture better. (2) The Notre-Dame Cathedral (second only to the one in Paris). The skyscrapers of the past... it's always hard to fathom the size of these places unless you're there, photos just can't capture their beauty, I think.

Love the lanterns.

I get more spooked by carousels than gargoyles!

I wish I had taken a few pictures of our plates of food ... eggplant w/salad, Flammkuchen, grilled meats. All very tasty, but pricey at the place we ate (in the part of town called Petite France). The prices in the middle of town where the cathedral is, were surprisingly moderate. But we were hungry and we thought that if we waited too long, they wouldn't be serving lunch anymore as they do in most French restaurants (which close at about 2 and open at 5 or 6 again).

Remind me to be more creative when taking pictures! Next time you'll see some food pics!

Have a great week friends!
