As ya'll know if you know us well, we like to go on little road trips. Since we don't have much time to go on overnights lately, we usually try to drive someplace interesting at least on Sundays. In the last few weeks we found 2 interesting places for a nice little day trip.
One of the places is Langenburg. Langenburg has a castle in which the princely Hohenlohe - Langenburg family reside in. This place actually has something for everyone in our family, it has of course the castle (that mostly I'm interested in), then there is an automobile museum (for the guys) and there is also a "climbing garden" (a rope course in the trees) for the nimble bodied amoung us. Since I'm more into walking along pathways I took a few photos along the way:

Lauterbourg:
Last Sunday ET wanted to get away and by getting away he means to leave Germany behind.. if only for a few hours. So we headed for the west border and just outside of Karlsruhe and over the Rhine river we found the little village of Lauterbourg, France. This is a small sleepy little town in Alsace with a beautiful bike and walking trail along the Rhine. The images on here don't do this place justice. I wasn't much into photographing, just enjoying that day. The french villages have such a different atmosphere than the ones here in Germany. Sometimes it is just refreshing to see a different style of architecture and a different perspective.
We had ourselves a little eat and sniffed some river air and headed for home all refreshed.
