Archie the cat

Our cat Archie is spoiled as heck! Don't get me wrong, I do love that cat, but the fact that he's with us is a matter of mutual tolerance I would say, for he doesn't seem to want to leave us and we (... well I ) cry every time he gets lost.

So far he's gotten lost twice. Once when he was younger and we had just moved here, he got lost when he was out in the rain...well it had stormed that night pretty bad and he hadn't come home. It's a long story, but we had another cat Lucy, who I think seduced him into crossing this big road. She was quite happy with herself all that week Archie wasn't around!

It was plainly faith and pure luck that Chris and I found him again. I had actually been talking to my friend Jackie and she said she had found her cat once after she was gone for a week, so that gave me hope to go out looking and calling for him again. Low and behold we found him in someone's weekend garden! Chris had to jump the fence and get him out of the bushes.

The second time he got lost was when he snuck into the kindergarden just across from our house. The cleaning lady had left the front door open and nosy as little cats are, he snuck in there. Well he was in there for 10 days without food or water. Poor thing, but again luck and faith kept us looking for him. We just couldn't believe he would voluntarily leave us, that thought saved his life I guess.

Anyway, to make a long story short.. after all these cat adventures, Archie isn't that keen on leaving this place! He likes to hang around one of us when we are doing something around the house and when we are doing something where we can't give our 100% attention to him he likes to get into things (just like kids, mine at least). Yesterday I was talking to my sis on the phone and he got on our bed, into the wash basket and basked himself in and around my shoes. I just had to take a few snapshots of him in action. Here's to Archie...
