Sunday walk...in the woods...in winter

Sometimes it feels good just to go out for a walk in the woods, in winter when the sun is out and there is almost no one else out there walking around.

You don't find too many places like this around here anymore, all the more pleasurable when you do come across a "secret" place.  No cars, or people, just nature and animal footprints.

For now I'll enjoy this scene, serene and quiet....

but I also hope that Spring won't wait too long this time.

no resolutions, going with the flow

Wow, me thinks it's going to be an exciting year in concerts! Now I just have to figure out which one I want to see most?!

For the start of the new year I'm not making any set of resolutions, but I will try to make the right decisions for me and my family, enjoy what I have been given and just let life be life.....

Anyone reading this....I wish you a most Happy New Year!

Little escapes

A compilation of several weekends worth of little escapes. (hint: compilation is another word for "I've been procastinating again about blogging")

Bad Wimpfen
What a nice sunny October day ET and I spent in Bad Wimpfen. It was a bit chilly, but the sun shone, we had cake and coffee...and each other

Blauer Turm in Bad Wimpfen

Love the "Fachwerk"

It doesn't look as steep as it actually was

good use of small space

 Burg Lichtenstein (near Reutlingen):
I love the mood this jewel of a castle evokes....
makes you feel like a fairy princess walking around the park!
(just ignore all the others out and about)

Dear Mr. Frost, be easy on us please!

Well the first frost of the season has hit us hard....boy has it gotten cold around here!  I'm not really a fan of the cold, but the morning frost when the sun hits it does have its moments. So this morning I jumped out there in my jammys and snapped a few pics:

I swear it's really cruel, just heard on the news that we are supposed to get a few more days of warm weather....Monday and Tuesday, of course then we are sitting in the office. What a teaser! I know I shouldn't be complaining, but why the heck do I write this blog if I can't complain every once in a while?

Whenever I complain about the winter people tell me, "we need winter because all the bugs die and everything has time to renew itself". Well that is just plain not true, we had two very tough winters and we had more bugs around here then ever before, so can that theori folks.

Well, at least the frost had some positive effects...ET finished a big part of the front of the house, because he didn't want the freeze to destroy the setting cobblestones he worked really fast.  So thank you frost and sorry ET, I believe in you Love, but the frost just made it happen a bit quicker I think.
(pics are coming when it's finished in its entirety...just don't hold your breath on that one)

Maybe that's why people who live in the southern hemispheres are more relaxed, they just have time to do things! We in the north have to get everything done before the big cold sets in....this may make us faster (aka. impatient) or at least we aren't able to give in to putting it off until another day.

Siggie's conscious: "Woah, Siggie .... stop yourself, bright lights are flashing and you're getting too philosophical again!"

Well, hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead, be it warm or somewhat chilly!
